Layouts will not save in Gantry / Momentum theme

Good day, everyone!
I am trying to set my mainbody layout to a 4/8 configuration and no matter what I try from other posts I have read here and outside of RocketTheme, my layout will not save, reverting back to 1 position for mb. My goal is 2 positions at either 3/9 or 4/8. Here is a screen print of my home page:

What I am trying to do is to pull the "MAINPAGE" section over to the left, so the Twitter ribbon takes up the first third of the Mainbody section and the MAINPAGE section takes up the last 2/3rd's. The Twitter ribbon and Mainpage sections are published in the Content A and Content C modules, respectively.
I have cleared the cache, double-checked that my permissions allow writable for params.ini in the Momentum template folder, and read the Gantry documentation. Still, the layout will not save. Unfortunately, this test site is running under MAMP on my home desktop, so I would not be able to direct anyone to check it out.
Any ideas?

- I forgot to mention that I am using Joomla 1.5.24, PHP version 5.3.6, and Apache 2.2.21, all running from MAMP v2.0.5 on my Mac Mini.

- OK, I figured it out but not until I loaded another test website and realized that I only had one item published in that section.
