Menu assignment not practical

    • As known Joomla had brought tabbed menu assignment page for modules to achieve ease of toggling if there is a large number of menus with hundreds of items.
Joomla Gantry templates are lacking this ease of use at least for my environment.
I have 125 menus with 1666 items so assigning template overrides to different menus is not an easy task for me. It can only be done one-by-one with current version.
I hope RT Team can bring us such an assignment page in template options.

    • I suggest to to post that in requests forum.
But I have to say 125 menus is a bit crazy.
Probably 0,0001% of all joomla sites have have so many menus.
For me a site with such a high number appears for me totally unusable for a visitor.
I can't see why one should develop stuff for such a site.

    • I agree with Henning, such menu would be crazy.

If you have a lot of items it would be better to make a site-map 8)

If you think of a 30-language site it is not that crazy. 30 main menus+30 top menus+30 bottom menus+30 sidebar menus=120 menus in total

    • If the visitors do not know the main language of the site they can just use Google Translate or some other translation service, IMHO.

It's not worth the extra time to make multi-lingual sites. Spend the time on adding content and useful features instead. 8)

      Hi prim,
I have just asked a would/must-be Gantry feature and you, all talented guys, are offering suggestions on off-topic issues.
Let me decide whether over 30-language/33K-article site can have multi-language feature using translation services or not.

    • I'm in agreement here and surprised at the responses to the posters request.

Gantry's menu assignment is weak and sub par compared to other templates I use. I only have 5 menus with the largest having about 100+ items. But assigning this menu has to be done with individual clicks. I have used other frameworks where this can be done in one click.

The only option is individual clicks or a global Toggle that affects every menu.

The solution would be a toggle per menu and on parent menu items would be much more user friendly.

indented display would be nice as well.
