Gantry update failed

Hi
On loading my site hebmobile.co/administrator this morning Joomla advised there was an update to Gantry 4.1.14 to be installed. I said do it - but it failed with messages about copy failures including to MD5SUMS.
I went and reset ownership (to me) for Gantry folder and changed permissions to r/w and retried update - again failure (no file names listed).
I then tried to re install the entire gantry from new - this also failed.
I am entirely stumped, can you make any suggestions? (needless to say site was running fine with previous version).

- Working on this, send me the database access the gantry is broken in database. I fixed the site in front-end but template admin still not working.

OK the Database is a mess and my opinion is to make a new installation and transfer the articles to the new installation and set everything up from the start.
