How can I plublish a module to gantry error.php file?

  • How can I plublish a module to gantry error.php file?

Posted 11 years 7 months ago
    • I'm using rt paid templates, but it's a gantry question.
My 404 page looks very bad. I want to place a menu module at least at it. I tried publishing a menu module to many positions with no result. If using gantry "Features" and publishing a menu module to a header-* positions, it works, but also works at normal web-site pages which is not acceptable.

      Any ideas? Thanks.

    • Thanks for the tip. But I've already rewritten the error page to include needed modules like menu and logo. Alas, I had to modify core template error.php file as Gantry doesn't provide a way to override it. I think Gantry should provide a way to override anyting.

    • Hello,

With the understanding that both Template and Gantry updates via Joomla! Extensions Manager override any changes you have made to our files, editing the template file is a better idea than editing anything in Gantry, as Gantry updates appear more frequently than template updates.

You should really consider using AMM. Then you won't need to be concerned with losing any of your changes during an update.

      Hope this helps!

    • It doesn't work. AMM (at least free version) will not allow you to publish a module to the error.php page.

    • Hello Dan,

Then I'd suggest simply editing the error.php file and taking note of the change if you update the template.
