Hi,
I uploaded a favicon to the rt_gantry_wp folder and to the wordpress folder however the favicon is not showing. Do I have to explicitly code a favicon link in header.php?

Yes you need to put this in the head section of your site so in index.php, header.php and template-contact.php
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="http://example.com/myicon.png">
www.w3.org/2005/10/howto-favicon - Available for CUSTOM WORK with Joomla, WordPress and Grav Templates and Gantry Framework!
