Gantry 5.2 Global JS Atom bug?

Posted 9 years 5 months ago
    • Good Morning -

First thing ot say is well done with 5.2. Moving in the right direction, cleaning up the interface, adding global JS/CSS etc.

One problem so far is that the global JS defined in base outline atom has appeared in another outline, see my attached Cloud outline, and has overwritten the exisiting local JS Atom.

Leading up to this I noticed my Cloud outline was not executing the global JS - although other outlines were. The other outlines, home etc, are ok for now and have not been overwritten.

Is this a bug or have I done something wrong?

      thx,

      Chris

    • yes I upgraded. I can't be sure what I did after that. I may have re-saved the original atom in the Cloud page - then noticed the page wasn't rendering properly (due to JS not being there). Went back to Cloud atom and there was the global JS atom at the bottom of the page.

    • I have no choice but to fix it... and I will.

The issue is that this will obvioulsy happen again, unless it's a once off conversion issue.

I will keep you posted if I see it again.

What woud be useful is the ability to copy and paste configured atoms and particles. I find it very frustrating having to drag a new particle/element onto the page and then reconfigure it each time. Is there an easier way of doing this?

So for example, I could go to a page with a local JS Atom and copy that and paste it into my Cloud atoms. Possible?

    • Hi, Is there any documentation on global JS/CSS? I can see local page settings info under docs.gantry.org/gantry5/configure/page-settings - but not global.

Can you help with the following?

1/ When I add a new outline, the Global JS/CSS atom automatically appears at the bottom of the new outline page settings. Is this correct?

2/ If this is correct, can I prevent/stop global js/css from being included on a page?

      Thanks
