SOLVED Override Gantry font size within an article

So, I'm using the kinetic template and have my font size set to helvetica default. This is fine for most of my site except a group of articles that im using RokStories to display on my main page. I'd like the text in those articles to be very large (3.5em) so i've changed the inline style of that text to <p style="font-size:20px">
this change is reflected in the article editor itself, but the content on my site is still the default helvetica size.
how can i override the Gantry default font within a single article?

in Rokstories did you try adding "p" to the allowed tags in the options?
If I remember correctly it's not allowed by default.
