Adding Javascript to <head> - Gantry Wordpress

Hi,
I would like to add Google Charts http://code.google.com/apis/chart/interactive/docs/quick_start.html to my wordpress gantry website.
I've attempted to add the scripts to the header.php files in both the themes and plugins folders but had no success getting the chart to showup.
Has anyone had this issue or would happen to know of solution? Thanks

- Really? has no one ever successfully added javascripts into this framework manually? All I'm really asking is where to put java scripts in the header? Thanks
