Menuless option in 1.6.6

I have done quite a bit of reading on issues people have with unwanted rotator showing up in their search results using Panacea. I am also having this issue. The solution seems to involve making a template copy with menuless items. However, it appears that there is no longer a way to select a menuless item in 1.6.6.
My goal is to avoid having search results end up with the front page modules. Any help is much appreciated.
