Styling problems and Font-Awesome not showing after Gantry v4.1.27 update

Hi there,
After i have updated today to gantry v4.1.27 all of the font-awesome icons are not displaying anymore.
Also i have styling problems after the update i'am building a site with the Ricochet template for joomla 2.5.28.
I'am not new to Rockettheme templates and gantry i do a lot of customizing, this site that i'am currently working on is on a local webserver for development at the moment. On the hand of the styling issues i can see that the values from gantry-core.less are not getting loaded for some reason, there is a import statement in the global.less file so that's not it.
(Example .rt-block has standard margin and padding values they are not displaying anymore after the update when i use firebug i also don't see them same for .gantry-width-33 etc. i could manualy make some overides in the template.less file that did wordked but when the next update of gantry will be released i have a problem again so i don't think that's the way to solving it ).
The Font-Awesome problem will be proberly a same kind of problem.
I have tried several things; cleared the lesscompiler, sitecache is of during dev, restarting Mampserver, memcached cleared all whith no succes.
Has anyone see this before after a gantry update? I don't! So any help would be welcome.

Posted 10 years 3 months ago- Hmm...I just upgraded my Gantry to 4.1.27 on my Ricochet on my MAMP for WINDOWS Beta. While the FontAwesome was fine I did see some breakage in the layout in FireFox. when I checked I still had the 1.0 version of the template and then updated to v1.1 and all was again in FireFox.

Hi Dan,
I'am already working with with the 1.1 version of the template my problems are in every browser i think the reason the icons are not displayed is because the font-awesome.less from the gantry lib is not loading some how.
I have a version of the site on a live server with also the 1.1 version of the template.
It is displaying the comings soon page at the moment. I don't update the gantry version yet so it is running on the previous one and there i have no problems.
The icons displaying correctly and also the predifined gantry css classes are working fine.
It is strange because i add the gantry classes manual to the template.less file on the local version and that is working fine.
I proberly can get the icons to work with a work arround but that's not the solution to edit gantry core files.
So i hope there will be more people with this problem.
In the mean while i'am going to try and find the bug in gantry because it has to be in the update i think.

Hi Dan,
For clearence the live server version i don't have the problems i have mentioned in this topic only on the local version of the site wich i'am developing. Proberly not because i did not update the gantry template to 4.1.27 on the live server you find the login data in the secure part.
I have looked a little bit arround, and what i found out is that in the global.less file in the template folder looks normal. But i'am shure that the following files are not loaded and not compiled to the general read (master) css output file;
@imort "utilities.less",
@import "gantry-core.less",
@import "jui/less/font-awesome4/font-awesome.less",
That's also the reason why i don't see the icons because the @font-face is missing in the css output file the same is for classes like medmargingtop rt-center which are utility classes and gantry-width-33 etc. which is a gantr-core class.
So hope you find something i'am curious what will happen if you update the gantry version on the live server if it gives the same problems as i have now on the local version.

It's not supposed to look like that. So lets fix it and upgrade to 4.1.27.
1) Backup your site with Akeeba backup as I see you are an astute user because you have it installed alreadyThis image is hidden for guests.

2) Go to Admin -> Extend or Extensions -> Extension Manager -> Discover -> Filter: -> type in "Gantry" and this will create a list of the filtered extensions.
3) Click Install
4) Go to Admin -> Extend or Extensions -> Extension Manager -> Manage -> Filter: -> type in "Gantry" and this will create a list of the FOUR filtered Gantry extensions.
5) Click Uninstall
6) Reinstall Gantry 4.1.27

Hi Dan,
Thanks for the reply i have updated and no problems but with the live version i had no problems only with the local version.
In the secure part there is a new url i have uploaded to a subdomain the version of the site which i have installed local on my Mac in Mamp.
You can use the same login you will see wat the problems are if you open the site. I corrected the issues manual by writing the code in template.less i have commented these out so you can see what i mean. there are loading problems of the files i have mentioned earlier.
I know for sure that has to be the case because you can see in firebug that parts of the code that causes the problems are not there (master css file) try it! Then look in the master css file on the normal domain i sent you and look the code there is present.
It's a weird problem.
