Gantry 5 content-top and content-bottom?

  • Gantry 5 content-top and content-bottom?

    Posted 9 years 5 months ago
    • I am giving Gantry 5 a try and am running into a few issues which no doubt are just becasue of my poor understanding so far!

      In Gantry 4 you could have a sidebar opposite the mainbody with content-top and content-bottom also part of the main body (as per the attached image).

      Is there a way to reproduce this type of layout in Gantry 5?

      I can't see how to do this as I can only insert a row.

      Thanks,

      Neil

      Edit: This is a Joomla 3.4.1 / Gantry 5.0.0-rc.3 / Hydrogen 5.0.0-rc.3 website.

    • you can add a new row in a section by clicking on "+" top right

      If you want to combine that with "sidebars" you can use a preset that supports that.

    • Hydrogen does have other preset that have a sidebar as Henning suggested. Use one of those anthen you will be able to click on the + signed to add another row to a section as Henning also suggested. Be careful though changing the existing layout to one of the presets as if you do that will lose what you currently have on the layout.

    • Excellent, thanks MrT!

      I have found and loaded the 2-column-left layout (see attached) but there seems to be a bug with this layout where the main body extends beyond where it should (see attached).

      The 2-column-right layout seems to work OK (see attached).

      Am I missing something?

      Thanks for your help.

      Neil

    • I confirm that there is an issue with the Hydrogen template for the 2 column layout presets so I have raised an issue on github https://github.com/gantry/gantry5/issues/468

    • You can get around this issue by using this custom SCSS:
      #g-main .g-container {
          width: inherit;
      }

      To create a custom CSS compatible with Gantry 5 please read this http://docs.gantry.org/gantry5/tutorials/adding-a-custom-style-sheet .
