installing Gantry 5

I have tried to install Gantry 5 twice according to the instructions on Docs.Gantry.Org and each time I get the message: Fatal error: Call to undefined method JInstallerAdapterPackage::getManifest() in /home/spectr/public_html/tmp/install_5628f81671834/install.php on line 75
What am I doing wrong?

- I am with HostGator with a server account so I assume it does. I have other Joomla sites on this server. However, as Gantry is quite new I will check with HostGator - thank you for the spec link.
