joomla update 3.6.3 just blew Gantry up

Posted 8 years 1 month ago
    • I am not sure if it is only my site or if this is a bigger problem.
I did a live update to 3.6.3 - refresh and website is gone.

Can someone at RT back up a test site first and then upgrade - validate if it is a fluke?

      Thaks,
      William

    • I am having the exact same problem!!!

Just destoryed a site of mine. I tried loading the fronend and get the following error:
"Error displaying the error page: Error decoding JSON data: Syntax error: Error decoding JSON data: Syntax error"

Backend loads but will give the same PHP7 error screens attached above.

      IIS8.5
      PHP7.0.9

    • Can someone please shoot me over how to revert back to 3.6.2?

      Were you using a backup?
It would figure the one site that I wasn't running Akeeba backup before update would be the important one I need right now.

    • I was running akeeba but could not access it as the admin panel was broken as well.

This is a file issue - your database is still intact.

I deleted only core joomla files from server, leaving vendor specifics, images, .htacess and configuration file.
I re uploaded 3.6.2 full file and unpacked on server - deleted installation folder and made a few tweeks.

      Try this as a retro-grade method -> https://docs.joomla.org/Updating_Joomla_(Manual_Method)

    • Thanks, Do you know if any one at RT is looking into? I have the nagging joomla 3.6.3 upgrade banner.
Also - I loaded fresh Photon Rocket Launcher and then updated and it is broken then reverted back to 3.6.2 and it is fine.
There is a definate issue that could potentially affect many RT members as they upgrade.

    • Thanks Dan, that fixed it for me, phew!

My only comment was that Mark had an extra _ before his table name, I received an error the first time I tried running the command, saying table did not exist. Once I removed one of the "__" then it worked fine.

      Thanks so much
