Unable to unpublish Sidebar-A

Hello
Joomla and Gantry newby here. Lovin' it! Problem is:
I have JomSocial installed as a page:
www.4qf.org/joomla/index.php/community/four-quarters-community
I would like it to display full width across mainbody. However, sidebar-a continues to display, though without any modules displayed.
Having searched these forums and the Gantry website I have checked the following:
Panacea Template and Gantry latest updates. FTP is enabled. Params is writable. In module manager all modules for sidebar-a on the four-quarters-community link are unpublished (confirmed because they do not display on the four-quarters-community page sidebar-a)
I should mention that I have all JomSocial styling commented out of panacea/css/extended.css as it is the only way I can get the JomSocial template to display correctly with tabs, per this thread:

When adjusting the custom per menu item layout for four-quarters-community in Gantry; Gantry still shows two positions published, allowing only 8/4 and 9/3 to be adjusted.
JomSocial displays two coulombs in the mainbody, so is JomSocial spoofing Gantry into seeing a module published to sidebar-a, even though module manager says there are no sidebar-a modules published to this page?

Are there problems with my servers PHP.ini? Server PHP settings as reported by joomla are:
max_execution_time 30
max_file_uploads 20
max_input_nesting_level 64
max_input_time 60
memory_limit 32M

It seems to be ok on your page. You have published a Calendar Module there. un-publish all modules and also check all the features,,,,,,,,,,, if anyone is published for the sidebar position.
Can you un-publish the calendar module so that I can check the issue? - Vikram Rao

Thanks for your interest and help.
After much reading here on the forums, what I have is the issue of Gantry not saving and updating changes by menu item, or doing so in very unpredictable ways. It is the known conflict between Gantry and Panacea 1.4 Template that is supposed to be resolved by the recent release of Panacea 1.5 and the latest Gantry.
In the Panacea Forum there have been many posts about this issue. If you look around the my site you will see 7/5 8/4 and 9/3 mainbody/sidebar_a widths. At this point Gantry will not save any changes. These variations are the result of Gantry partial saves. Likewise with the rotator, bits and pieces (the navigation buttons to the side of each page) appear randomly throughout the site.
I am waiting for my developer (I do not code) to upgrade our custom Panacea template to Panacea 1.5, we will then reload the latest Gantry, and try, try, again! -smile
I could use an answer to my question above about the necessary PHP settings for Gantry to work.
Mine are:
|max_execution_time 30

Any help here?

I was working with Jcal as you posted. I have removed the Jcal module from sidebar_a, as you can see, a blank sidebar_a is still present. Also note that one of the images from the rotator is present on this page, but without the navigation buttons.
Per menu item settings in gantry fail to save. Per the discussion in the Panacea forum I have installed gantry 3.0.12 as supposedly working with Panacea 1.5.4, but the Gantry error to save continues. I have also tried all higher versions of Gantry, all fail to save.
I will PM you admin access and would be so thankful if you would take a look.

Hey Thanks for sending me the details. The issue has been corrected. Please check your site. You left the module 'COPY OF MAN MENU' published on ALL pages.
It is fine now please check the screen-shot below

Also advise you to upgrade to Gantry 3.1.4 and also check your templateDetails.xml file for missing tags. there seems to be a couple of errors.

Thanks Vikram. That was certainly a newby error on my part leaving that blank menu published to the /community page. Thanks!
But Gantry is still broken and will not save. I will do what I can to get my developer to look into the file you identified, templateDetails.xml and update to Panacea 1.5.5
