Published positions number wrong & unable to save

  • Published positions number wrong & unable to save

    • Hello,

I have these 2 issues with gantry "Layout" section that i can figure out. I use quantitive template

      1. I have 5 modules published in "feature" position a,b,c,d,e. When i open Gantry in template manager it says: "You have currently 1 positions published.", instead of 5

      2. When i do changes in parametres they dont get saved. I check params.ini file, every time i save something it gets 555, i then fo make it 644, makes grandry "writeable" but then again changes are not being saved.

      Any tip please?

      Thank you

    • hi there,

quick question, do you have the 5 feature positions all published on the frontpage?

if you use them on a subpage and only one feature position on the frontpage, then by default the layout slider will say "you have currently 1 position published".

if you use the "per-menu-item configuration" to check what the layout slider says for the page that has all the feature positions published, then it should say "you have currently 5 positions published" for that particular page.

      hope this helps, kat :)

    • Regarding editing based on menu item, I'm trying to set one page full width with no side boxes. This is a calendar component so its displaying in the main area and I need it very wide. I can't seem to eliminate the space for the side boxes. What should the settings be to make that happen.

      Thanks in advance!

      hi ruth,

what do you mean with sideboxes? are you referring to the sidebar modules?
if so, then you can just unpublish them on the pages where you want to use the calendar.

    • I've gone in and used the menu item, selected "calendar" and I change the position on the mainbody to 1 but it does not save. I've made sure the .ini file is writeable. In looking at the ini file, where would the parameter be for a custom menu setting? I thought maybe I could change it manually and then save the file. I just need this one change so I don't want to spend time figure out why it doesn't work, just looking for a quick work around so I can move on.

    • There are no modules published to this page. Sorry I should have made my self more clear. The space where they would be is there constricting the calendar to a 3 column width.

    • hi again,

do you have a link to your calendar page? it seems this is the default size of the calendar and you would need to change the css to make it bigger and take up the full width.

btw, if your slider shows 3 positions, then you move it to 1 and save, it will ALWAYS go back to 3.
you can not unpublish modules using the slider, to unpublish modules you have to use the module manager as with any other template.

all that the sliders can do is to change the widths.
to see how this works, make sure to check the documentation on our gantry framework site.
      www.gantry-framework.org/documentation/joomla/configure/layouts
best to check the video tutorial to fully understand how to use those sliders.

      hope this helps, kat :)
