- If this helps, I have the same problem with Enigma template. New install using RocketLauncher. Can't edit the Enigma template/style, get 500 error. All other templates are fine.

- Hi Prim,
  Did you get the login I sent PM? Enigma the only template that can't edit (500 error), RokGallery can't upload (Rollback failed. There is no active transaction.), and can't edit configuration.php via Global Config unless I first change permissions to 777. All sounds like permissions, but I am at a loss as to what to change. I have tried with and without .htaccess, mod rewrite, and Options +FollowSymLinks. All directories are writable.

- In my case all these weird 500 error messages usually is because you can install modules via ftp, so if you have ftp enabled it doesn't look at file permissions but if you use gantry it doesn't use ftp to change the information (as far as i can tell)
  
  So make sure to double check -> Site -> Site information, that everything is writable in there, if not make those writable (757 or whatever rocks your boat) and try again. Did the trick for me.

  thank you for your login details. there are several issues on your site:
  1. you are using php 5.2.10, you should have at least 5.2.17 in order for gantry to function properly.
  also recommended version for joomla 2.5.1 is php 5.3.x (although i have had no issues so far with 5.2.17)
  2. in your admin area > site > system information > directory permissions... all of those need to be writable, yours are all unwritable except for very few. you need to get that fixed.
  
  once those are sorted feel free to post back if you continue to have any issues.
