SOLVED Making external url links relative

Is it possible to use some kind of link syntax in the Menu Manager External url link setting to create a link that is relative to the site?
I'm thinking why do I have to keep changing this when I shift the site between subdomains and main domains and localhost and WAN servers.
Just asking...

- If you don't put domain part in the external link text field, it will always be relative to the website no matter on which domain website works

Perhaps I've not explained very well.
I mean that if I use an address of say /folder1 as the url but then move to a subdomain called test.domain, the url becomes say /test/folder1 and I was hoping to avoid having to change it each time it moves.

- Try to use only "folder1" instead of "/folder1"

- When you use "fodler1" you are using relative path and when you use "/folder1" you are using absolute path
