For what template? Could you please post a URL to your site (this can be done in the secure area tab if you prefer) so we can look for you. Without a link to page where the problem is on your site it is quite hard for us to provide the best solution due to so many variables. We try to provide file names and line numbers for code changes and if changes have already been made then our advice may be incorrect.

You can use our roksocialbuttons plugin available here
http://www.rockettheme.com/joomla/extensions
under "utilities".
If you want to implement roksocialbuttons into the template (like other templates) then http://www.rockettheme.com/forum/joomla-extension-misc/198498-roksocialbuttons-template-integration
If you just want to show the social buttons in your article or module then you just put "{socialbuttons}" in the text to utilise roksocialbuttons.
But i'm not sure of the context in which you are trying to add social buttons and to where?
I note that you are using Gantry template.

Hi Mark
It is my intention to facebook icon should appear on the website in general (the head of the template).
I installed Roksocialbutton but do not think I can get it to work, the only generate a message "Notice: Undefined index: HTTP_USER_AGENT in /customers/8/a/2/noedebo-kro.dk/httpd.www/libraries/ gantry / core / gantrybrowser.class.php on line 91 "in the article.
I hope you can bear with my ignorance?

So why don't you just use facebook's own like code from their site in a customHTML module assigned to header then? Or you could use one of the many extensions from JEd to do this for you?
