How do I use an existing Media Manager to pull images from in Particles. For instance, if I have uploaded my image file picture1.jpg into a folder entitled images, located outside of the entire wordpress install but on the same level...how is that done?
The wordpress install is in a folder called blog and the images folder is up/back one level in the root. How can I get images in that folder to show up in the various particles?
Is there a global setting somewhere?
In the item settings in the Owl Carousel it defaults to gantry-media://demo/home/expanded/img-01.jpg. Then, when I click on the little icon next to the item field it shows a directory tree within the gantry install. Is it possible to change this to show another location?

root: your/path

Thank you for your help but I do not know what a YAML file is or where to find it. Can you give me an exact scenario as though I was staring at the root of my server, at a closed folder containing the wordpress install.
So...If my wordpress install is in a foldder called blog.
and in the root of that blog folder I want a media\images folder what do I need to do and exactly where do I do it in order for gantry framework to see it as default in all particles that support images...as opposed to the present default location?

Well you will need to wait for a new version of Gantry 5.2.18 or you can download latest ci build
gantry.org/downloads#ci-builds
where this is fixed and you need to adjust every particle for this where you have image: field:
image: type: input.imagepicker label: Image description: Select the main image. root: - test - gantry-theme:// - gantry-media://

Ok, I installed the 5.2.18 update. If you could kindly tell me exactly what to do and where to do it in order to change the default location for Gantry to look for media it would be awesome.
I do not know any code whatsoever so it will be unlikely that I am able to distiguish between what to do and what not to do.
When I see:
"Gantry-media://" within the sample.yaml file what should I replace it with if my desired folder (\images) is in folder (\media), in the root of the wordpress folder install(\blog).
I really appreciate your help...really.
If I owe you anything I will gladly compensate you. I was thinking there would be a field where a global default could be specified for Gantry to recognize.

Absolutely! Thank you for your willingness to help. How should I get the login information to you? Is it likely that the changes you will make will be overwritten with each framework or theme update? If so, do you have a better recommendation for media management that interfaces with Wordpress, Gantry framework and the theme?

I will add them to the custom folder so they will not get overridden ...
