    • Call me silly.... because I know this is way easier than I'm making it.... in the demo for Requiem.... the promo content in header and basically the entire front page appears everywhere.... meaning when I click on the menu item... it goes to the article but keeps all of the front page. I'm guessing the particles are assigned to all pages and I tried to grasp this concept.... becuase it's obvious theres a lot of flexibility but there areent really any more pages like their were before? What am I missing? In assignments they dont appear to be assigned but I see that frontpage everywhere.... with no exception.... how do I click on a menu item and only see the article once it lands at that page???? please help :p

These are the two scenarios for the Promo Content particle:

      Appears on the Home page:

      1) the Promo Content particle is placed directly in the Layout of the Home Outline
      2) the Promo Content particle was created in the Joomla Module Manager screen and the assigned module position is added to the Layout of the Home Outline

      Appears on ALL pages:

      1) the Promo Content particle is placed directly in the Layout of the Default Outline
      2) the Promo Content particle was created in the Joomla Module Manager screen and the assigned module position is added to the Layout of the Default Outline

It seems your thought process is correct in that you need to assign the Promo Content particle to an Outline that is assigned to ONLY the menu pages you want the Promo Content particle to appear on.

    • Hey Dan....

Thanks.... finally grasped.... another quick question perhaps? I wish to have the inside pages (outlines) the same the "overview page" in the demobasically only menu at the top.... where the promo content is gone and the menu is in navigation.... with white bg and black text.... but when I try to change bg of the particle for navigation in styles, it does't affect anything... any ideas? Thanks again for explanation... I'm loving this new gantry... well I know I will when I get it... will save me tons of time!

      Thank in advance.

If you read my guide you would understand that making changes in the Base Outline WON'T affect the particles currently in use in your Layout. Also be sure your changing the settings in the right Outline.
If this is a site that is online (just installed, dev or live) could you please supply a link in your reply so I can better diagnose the issue?
It makes our suggestions more accurate if we see the actual coding of your site.

Gantry 5 is BRILLIANT! I see with Topaz RocketTheme is beginning to change particles from user defined static content to Joomla sourced dynamic content. Most AWESOME!!!

    • I finally understood.... once I got over the "old way of doing things" my eyes were opened! No need to even go into the css anymore for me (cookie cutter sites is all I really do) Long live Gantry 5! Topic solved.

Personally I've cut my prototyping time for a new site down by 35% because of all the No-Coding features of Gantry5

I think it's time to go beyond Gantry 5 and develop RJM (pronounced "rjam") which is an acronym for RocketJooMla. An integrated CMS that uses the basic content rules of Joomla but uses a RocketTheme Gantry framework.
