SOLVED Godaddy Managed Wordpress E_COMPLE_ERROR

    • Curious if this is a known issue, if anyone else has seen this or knows the fix. I tested using Godaddy Managed Wordpress from Godaddy shared hosting (I know Godaddy). I setup a clean install of Wordpress, installed Gantry 5, Timber and then the Hydrogen theme. The public side looks fine, but when I go into the layout manager I get the following:

Whoops \ Exception \ ErrorException (E_COMPILE_ERROR) Can't use method return value in write context
      .../classes/Gantry/Admin/Particles.php:42

Is this an issue with Gantry or with Godaddy? Also any recommendations on affordable Wordpress hosting? My reason for testing this is looking for something optimized to run Wordpress a little better and a little more secure than basic shared hosting (apart from a VPS or dedicated server).

    • Please install Gantry 5.3.1 and it will resolve that issue.
