  • SOLVED Will Gantry Particles Update automatically?

    • So i see the awesome new templates with the audio and video particles, etc. and was assuming that with the updates to my gantry 5 on older sites using the same Gantry 5 that the particles will automatically appear in the other templates gantry 5 layouts when updated to 5.3+. Is this not the case? For I do not see them in there...will we have to copy the particles from a newer template like Remnant to add to another Gantry 5 template from before? And if so is there a guide on how to properly do this?

    • The are two types of particles:

      1. Core Gantry 5 particles (e.g. "menu" "totop" "logo/image")
      2. Template specific particle (e.g. "video" in Remnant)

      core particles are updated and maintained as part of the Gantry 5 framework and will be updated when you install the latest version of Gantry 5.

      Template specific particles are updated and maintained as part of the template and will be updated when you install the latest version of your template. But, template specific particles are not automatically ported to other templates (because they're template specific).

      You can copy particles from one template to another though.

      Note though that it is your resposibility to maintain the copied particles though thereafter.

    • Big Bummer on having to copy particles. Perhaps they should be other extension.
