  • SOLVED Cannot get particle assignment to work for menu items

    • Hi!

      I just installed the Protean template with Gantry using the Rocketlauncher... it all looks beautiful... but,
      Then I built a new menu and I setup a layout with a flipster which I do NOT want to have on any other page
      than the front page (home menu item)... I cannot get rid of the flipster on the other pages... it's stuck
      there and follows.
      I have checked the modules and I can't find "my" flipster in there but I have tried to create a flipster
      from the modules page and done the menu assignments as I'm used to in Joomla, but none of it works...

      I'm really lost. Can anyone please point me in the right direction here? :-)

    • Where did you create the flipster? If you put in directly onto the outline layout and that outline is being used by other menu items then it is going to show on those other pages. IF you want to use the same outline for your menu items but want to have different content then you need to create a "module position" particle on the layout of the outline and then create your flipster particle within a "Gantry 5 particle" module in module manager and assign it to the position that you created (also assign to only the menu items you wish it to appear).

      Thanks for your reply. In the meantime I have solved it and what was not clear to me was that "modules" in Joomla and particles cannot be controlled cross between Joomla and Gantry. I had to create a template style for each page layout in Gantry and within Gantry assign a layout to a menu position.
      Not quite uncomplicated though, and rather hard to find in the documentation. I will make an instruction movie about this a post in YouTube.
