    SOLVED Coming Soon Outline Doesn't Enable?

    • Hi,

      After updating my staging environment copy of my Joomla site today, with the latest 3.7.1 security update; I've then pushed this copy to my live site URL but this isn't quite ready for public viewing as yet.

      Therefore, I've gone to enable my coming soon outline in my live site but it doesn't seem to want to enable and doesn't give me the coming soon, instead it's the full live site EEK!

      I've emptied both browser cache, site cache, also flushed static and dynamic cache's within my Siteground hosting but to no avail.

      Can you help advice please, I will post temp access creds n the secure tab, thanks.

      That's not how you enable it... but it is working?

      You've set your site to offline mode. Then you've made the "coming soon" template the default outline (which is incorrect). What you should be doing is creating a "coming soon" menu item and assigning that outline to the menu item and then making the "coming soon" menu item the default menu item. In this way you can then still navigate to all your other pages by using their direct link.

      Typical really, in that I'd waited hours and cleared every conceivable cache system, went to bed and then woke up to see that it had done what I was hoping, to show the Coming Soon. I appreciate though what you are saying about the way I'd not created the menu item for CS, to then attach the CS outline... I will do this as a matter of course just to correct this inaccuracy of mine, thanks for pointing it out. :)
