Recently when I upload my sites to a new site I do it the way I always have done.
Akeeba backup
Upload to new/live site
Akeeba Kickstart.
Recently I've been getting an error saying Joomla! cache path is not available. It happens on the front end and when you try to open Gantry.
- The first thing to do is to create a cache folder if it is missing in the root directory.
- Also check the administrator directory and add a cache folder if necessary.
- I find it worthwhile to upload via FTP the original cache folder(s).
- Sometimes in Global Configuration "file" is not available as a cache type, in that instance you should open configuration.php and check the cache path folder and ensure it correctly points to the new server. If it points to the old server cache will be unavailable.
I hope this helps someone.
