SOLVED HTTP ERROR 500 - Gantry Update to 4.1.33

  • SOLVED HTTP ERROR 500 - Gantry Update to 4.1.33

    Posted 7 years 10 months ago
    • In attempting to update my sites, all my (only 5 remaining) Joomla 2.5 sites are getting an error when trying to update to gantry 4.1.33: HTTP ERROR 500 is all I get for an error message. This version of gantry is OK for J 2.5, correct? All my J3+ sites updated just fine.
      Thanks, Vicky

    • Set error level in global configuration to "maximum" and this will usualyy give a better error message. Also look in apache error log for a more detailsed error message. Yes 4.133 is ok but we no longer support J2.5 at all (and neither do Joomla).

    • I'm about to not support it any more, too. :-\
      For now, just a few companies have not opted to pay for upgrade.

      Thanks, this was the error:
      Fatal error: Call to undefined method JInstallerPackage::getManifest() in xxx/public_html/tmp/install_5967b91ada786/install.php on line 75

      which is:
      /** @var JInstallerAdapter $parent */
      $manifest = $parent->getManifest();

      can you offer an idea, or just no more support for J2.5 now?

    • So my suggestion is to do the updates the other way around.

      Update to J3 first and then after that update Gantry and anything else that requires it.

      Regards, Mark.
