SOLVED Front End Editing

    • Hey guys,

I've been looking through some of the other threads regarding this but can't pinpoint if this is a Joomla theme Bug or a Gantry bug, or even just a settings conflict.
Right now, we're having issues using front-end editing, for instance when I try to edit a roksproket module. We also have a front end article manager that is also throwing errors because of this, either leading me back to the home page or giving an error notice with no text.
Talking with the developer of the article manager, we tracked the error at possibly being that the gantry 5 themes custom page menu type is overriding the front end editing.

      Has anyone run into this?

    • 1. roksprocket is not editable via the frontend - it never has been and never will be.

      2. Regarding your osembed warning message being reported in system messages. I read what it said and then followed the link given to https://www.joomlashack.com/docs/osembed/tinymce/ - this states that you have to remove the prohibition of "iframe" elements. I checked you tinymce settings and you had not done this... so I have done it for you and now the warning message no longer appears.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Hi Mark!

Thanks for the explanation on that, I now seem to remember that about roksprocket, though I wonder if there's another restriction that I'm unaware of in regards to these errors:

      - The one that says "htmlspecialchars" happens when an article is locked.

      - And the other "pixanalytic" happens whenever I click on the Edit button within that Article Manager in any of the articles listed. According to the developer, the option only works properly once I assign the page to a template that is not a gantry one.

    • Those errors are in your third-party plugins - so you need to ask the developers of those plugins about that. The messages are warning that normally come about when the third-party product is not fully compatible with the PHP version that you have installed.

You could just try setting error level to "none" in global configuration - this should hide the error message but of course there's no guarantee that the product will then work.
