    Problems with memcached

Posted 8 years 8 months ago
    • Seems gantry is not quite compatible with memcached...

WOrking on a new site, have it configured well with memcached active and so, tried to do gantry 5.0.1 update, now I get this errr in backed anytime I try to create a category, create an article, modify ANYTHING...

Fatal error: Call to a member function add() on a non-object in /public_html/libraries/joomla/cache/storage/memcached.php on line 468

Also, frontend doesn't work, as gantry doesn't seem to be installed

Tried to reinstall, but can't because now anything I try renders the famous fatal error...

Memcached has got quite a lot of work from joomla to make it the best performance solution for our sites now, is a shame to see gantry killing a site for having it active :/

    • Hey Johnny! Long time since I talked with you last time.

The error doesn't come from Gantry, but Memcached itself. It looks like it fails to error out the fact that you do not have memcached installed to your PHP.

Except that you seem to have fixed the issue. :)
    • Gantry 5, enjoy!
