    • Hello,

My Joomla website is nexia.live but I'm getting the below error...

Failed to load 'g5_helium' template: mkdir(): Permission denied
I installed Gantry 5 Framework + Helium Template All-in-one Package on my GoDaddy windows hosting...
The database is on a remote host but anyway the All-in-one package installed successfully without any error...
My Hosting is GoDaddy Windows Website Hosting...
I tried changing configuration.php file permissions to read and write and execute but I'm still getting the same error...
I am able to login into my administrator dashboard but I am not able to change any values...
For Example:- I am not able to enter my FTP details or anything like that...
My website root is getting an error...
Can somebody please help me to resolve this error...

      Thank you in advance...

      Regards,

      Praveen Thomas

    • Well as the message states there is a permission error preventing access to some files/directories. There can be a number of cause to this:

      1. Genuine bad permissions on the files/folders - they should be 644 and 755 respectively.
      2. incorrect owner/group on the files preventing joomla from accessing the files/folder
      3. bad .htaccess rules
      4. incorrect mod_security rules (check your security log).
      5. incorrect tmp/log path for joomla in global configuration.

So.. check the apache error log for messages, check the security log too.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Hello MrT,

Thanks a lot for your reply...
The thing is I'm on Windows Hosting and so I'm using IIS web server...
Can you please tell me what are the different Joomla files and directories that must have full control...

      > Read, and Write, and Execute Permissions...
Thanks once again for your help...
Please get back to me on file or directory permissions...

      Thank you

    • Hello MrT ,
Thanks a lot for your reply...
I will change the permissions and see if it works...
Is Windows Hosting or IIS web server good for PHP websites or applications?...
      Please do let me know...

      Thank you

    • In my own experience (and what I see regularly in this forum) windows hosting is more problematic to configure and get working than linux hosting. I'm not saying you can't get it to work, you can, it's just that it often gives you more difficulties than you would otherwise experience with linux hosting. So, when asked, I was always recommend linux hosting as being more preferable.
