    Advice on CB, Infuse template, Rockbridge

    • I am fairly new at all this but learning fast, the hard way it seems, but before I start into this endeavor, I wanted to know if what I am tempting to do will work. I have a site using the Infuse template, and I have CB (Community Builder) installed and working. Now I want to add phpBB3 but I want to make sure that the two are seamlessly connected, at least as far as the end user is concerned. What I mean by that is if the user comes to the web site and is signed in, and then goes to the forum, they do not have to sign in again and visa-versa. Also, that the navigation is mirrored on the phpBB3 portion of the site. After doing some reading it looks like some people are using Jomsocial and others are using CB. Just want to make sure that this is going to work as nicely as I think it will without and special hacks. So do I understand correctly, that all I need now is phpBB3 (infuse template version) and RockBridge and I am off to the races?

      Please advise.

    • Hi Houston,

      If the least of your concerns is the synced logon process, then "YES", installing rokbridge after setting up your phpBB3 forum with accompanying "Infuse" theme will do the trick.

      However, be aware that your users will have to maintain two profiles, one in phpBB3 and another in CB. Unless, you wanted to roll your sleeves and make one of the other point to another, i.e. phpBB3 profile to point to CB profile, or vice versa.

      There are also some hacks that make one profile pull the data from the other to complete the illusion that they are really in sync.

      I will probably want to roll up the sleeves at some point but I just need to get them to look the same and allow my user to login to one or the other and back and forth without having to log back in. I am assuming this will be possible.
