Why I Picked RocketTheme to be our Primary Template Provider

As a website developer, I figured that I'd pay for a couple of subscriptions to various template houses to give my customers additional choices. Last year I subscribed to YOOtheme to give them a try. I've let my subscription expire just recently, but I will definitely be renewing my developer subscription with RocketTheme. I wanted to share some of the reasons why I made this choice because customers frequently ask me which template house is "best." Of course, there are personal design preferences, but there are also some objective measures:
- Versatile Design - templates must be adaptable to a wide variety of customers. Most of our customers are small businesses, but some are not-for-profits, personal, and corporate websites. Templates that are too narrowly focused in a design sense are hard for me to sell to customers. The other template houses I've tried frequently deliver templates that are so narrow, none of my customers even want to consider them as the basis of a website design. RocketTheme's templates are nicely versatile. Each month, I feel that the templates can be used for a wide variety of customers.
- Technical Innovation - Many template houses try to sell their templates on the basis of visual appeal. Certainly that is one factor. But, technical innovation is so important. More and more, templates have to be able to do more "work," not just be pretty. This month's RocketTheme template, Somaxiom, works on the iPhone!! I have customers lined up wanting this template! I also have a number of enterprise customers that are very interested in Content Construction Kit technologies and extensions that need to integrate with RocketTheme. With the other template houses I've tried, I get the message: third-party extensions are not supported. With RocketTheme, I see right on the home page "concentrates on elegance and third party extension support." This is the kind of attitude that helps gives me confidence that RocketTheme is a template house that is also a safe choice. They get it! It's about Community.
P.S. Along these lines, might I suggest that you have a section of your website that highlights your support and recommendations for third-party extensions. For example: Extensions > Third Party where you can blog about your integration successes and a Third Party Extensions forum for community discussion. - Steve Amerige,
