    • There are various settings throughout Joomla! to enable/disable caching. As I understand it, caching is done to speed up the loading of pages, yes? When is caching a bad thing? Should I cache the RSS feeds that are announcing news on my site? Any other bits of info in this respect would be greatly appreciated.

basically caching the content speeds up the site because it doesn't have to connect to other sites or the database to get the content every time it is requested.

it only connects every 15 minutes (or your set time) to check for changes.

it's bad on a site that is frequently updated with updates that need to appear as they're added (not 15 minutes later)

    • to cache or not to cache ... that is the question

try caching for a month then try without ... unless your site is getting serious traffic you'll see little difference
