    • This has been asked and answered many times....

Once 1.6 goes stable they will be updated, but not before. However they are already working on porting them over. But it doesn't make sense to release before 1.6 is stable due to the possibility of changes.

      Hope that helps.

J1.5 templates will not work on 1.6, the same as J1.0 template would not work on J1.5.

The coding of the core completely different or at least significantly different enough for them not to work properly.

What you will probably see is two separate releases each month, a J1.5 and a J1.6, same as in the good old days with J1.0 and J1.5.

Also, the template will probably be ported in reverse order, (newest to the oldest) starting with most current Gantry templates, working backwards to the non-Gantry versions, perhaps in reverse order or most popular?

    • Will the incremental workload of the team have an impact on the new releases? If you are upgrading old templates and doing dual releases on new templates then I can only assume your time will be lessened. i.e. will less time be available to add cool features to the new releases? Or is it minimal work? Outsourcing to sweatshops? Etc.? :D

No worries... when J1.0 and J1.5 were being actively developed, month after month, the two versions were released simultaneously, and still new stuff was added each month.

As always, Andy will find a way to make things work.

Not only is he a top notch coder and designer, he knows what it takes to make RT one of the top template providers (if not the top...), adding the proper horsepower as needed.

New coders, designers, and moderators are added as need to handle the load.

The main point to consider is timing and balancing the workload, i.e., when J1.6 is released and the first template is released, you are not going to find all 80+ J1.5 templates converted the next day. It will take some time, as it did when RT converted all the J1.0 templates released prior to J1.5 to J1.5.
