rename template file

I am needing to do some changes to a template and wanting to rename and repack the template. Basically I am presenting a few proposals to change some things for a NON profit site. I want to use the template chooser so they can look at each variation of the template.
I am just not sure how to do this....how do I rename a template and also repack (assume just zip but not sure if I need to do something else.)

You do this in the templateDetails.xml file or any file in the template folder that is .xml - You just change the name and fields etc....
Warning, if you have added files, make sure you add their routes to the <filename>..</filename> section of the XML

THat was exactly what I needed.
Have another question along the same lines. What do you rename to show a different name when viewing the source...
for example....source for this RT (<link href=" www.rockettheme.com/templates/rt_rockett...css/template_css.css ")
What controls it being called rt_rockettheme
Have seen people do this before and was wondering...thanks in advance.

The text in blue is a folder.
As in:
url
templates folder
rt_rockettheme folder
css folder

Hello again noblecode
In the XML file, you will come across these tags <name></name> That is what controls the name of the template
For example, in the Bentobox XML file, it is <name>rt_bentobox</name>
Are not XML files just the best

Note: in regards to the other posts on changing XML file. You can change a the file names and paths... BUT your license prohibits you from removing reference to Andy/Rockettheme.

Yes this is VERY important. People think open source is free, BUT it is not "free" So even with open source licenses you can't just remove all refernce to the creator/s...big can of worms!
And for RT templates ...they are not open source! Read the terms and conditions of use (it's here on the site) It will tell you which refernces you can and cannot modify/remove. - Don't think, Feeeeel... It is like a finger pointing to the moon. (slap) Don't concentrate on the finger or you'll miss all that heavenly glory.
