Gantry and 3rd Party Input Styling

Posted 14 years 10 months ago
    • Hello,

I have a Gantry enabled template (Panacea). I have installed several 3rd Party utilities with input field forms including for example: Alpha Registration and docman. Fiels like Name, username, password etc on these forms is invisible (white on white) even though the forms are there and so are the input fields.

Problem: When the user is redirected to the input form, the fields are impossible to see, they have no borders and are white on white.

I have tried manipulating the CSS and even enabled and disabled the Gantry input styling within the template but the forms never change.

The Gantry help files tell what input styling is for but do not discuss overrides or editing in enough detail to find the problem. This seems like a very BASIC issue but the Grantry template seems to control the input styling and I cannot figure out how to edit it without potentially causing issues elsewhere in the template (Like doing a global Override).

      Please help!

    • hi there,

do you have a link to your site so we can take a closer look?
can you give us a direct link to a page where we can see the issue?

      thanks, kat :)

I have used the Gantry menu feature to change the background of just this page so the fields show up but I want it white and I want the fields to haev a 1px border. I thought it would be in template.css or joomla.css but its not there. This seems so bsic but this is the first Gantry template site I have tried to deploy input styling on. Nothing else I have done in the past used Gantry and forms.

    • I ran across an article titled Adding a New Colorchooser Parameter. Seems like this could solve my issue if I could find the correct parameter and css to edit. I never had this issue on pre-Gantry templates. Would be easier if RT would just add this feature to all Gantry enabled templates.

    • hi chris,

could you disable rokgzipper or any other compression tool so we can see the original code?
a screenshot would be helpful too to show us where in that page a text form should appear.

    • Zipper disabled

path to page granite.digitalrealitycorp.com --> SHOP --> DOWNLOAD --> FILL OUT FORM The form is the problem. The Gantry framework is overriding the CSS for the form. Being new to Gantry, I cannot figure out how it inject sits css to override. I have tried the input control but maybe I do not understand something yet. To solve my problem short term, I used Gantry to make just this page gray-ish background. What I want is a border around each field. I edited the css within the plugin for the form but it is being overridden by Gantry.

image available here: www.digitalrealitycorp.com/gantry1.jpg NOTE: I edited the pic in Photoshop to add the outline to First Name field as I desire, 1px color #000000

    • Just a thought and this is a long shot, but....

Do you have RokBox enabled and, if so, what is your setting for the "System-Rokbox" plugin? If you have it set to dark and your theme is light, it would cause this problem.
