    • Ok, this is probably a dumb question, but I'm not understanding and I'm not finding this addressed anywhere. If someone can explain or point me to an explanation I'd be appreciated.

When I add a Menu Item and go into Menu Item Type area there are a couple of Blog options. In applying them, I'm not seeing it as really being different that creating an article.

What is the difference between a blog Menu Item Type vs an Article Menu Item Type????

    • hi whiplash,

menu type = article layout > displays a single article

in the article layout the article will be shown completely without any readmore link even if the article itself does contain a readmore link.

menu type = blog layout > displays several articles from either the same section or the same category, depending on if you select a section blog layout or category blog layout.

for the blog layout usually the intro text of the article will be displayed only (in case you have added a readmore link) and clicking on the readmore link will then open the complete article in its own page.

there are several configuration options for both article and blog layout, please find more info in the joomla documentation.

      hope this helps, kat :)
