This is the warning I get on the Parameters section of the Template "The parameter file /templates/rt_zephyr_j15/params.ini is unwritable!"
Is this something I should be worried about and if so how to fix it?

If your changes are saving, no.
This is an ongoing problem with Joomla, not the templates.You could make sure your FTP layer is set up correctly in Global Configurations, or try this fix:
