    Problem with uploading new videos

Posted 14 years 7 months ago
    • Hi All

I'm trying to upload a new video to my website. I'm using the versatility 4 template. I managed to successfully do this in the past but the problem I have now is when I go into an article or a module and press the avr media button, it opens up another page where I can put the information in for the video but the page that opens or the box, goes off the page so I can't see all of the information at the top of the page where I would normally be able to choose a video file from my hard drive. Can someone advise me how I can get the box to open smaller when I press the avr media button?

      My website is www.redrouteparking.com

      Regards
      Paul

    • Hi Jem

When I click on the link it says I'm not authorised to read this thread. Do I need to do something specific to be able to zoom in firefox. Once I'm able to see the top of the screen when I click on avr media I will be able to add more videos to my website. Also I remember when I first uploaded the videos onto my website I could just about see the top of the page after clickin on avr media, in order to select a file from my hard drive from the drop down menu but now I can't see it.

I'll check the avr forum now.
      Regards
      Paul

Probably your subscription has expired... time to renew?

CTRL +/- or CTRL and the scroll wheel on your mouse if it has one.

I don't use that particular component so I can't give you advice.

Especially since it's totally unrelated to the template you need to work with the developer.

    • Perfect, I can now reduce the size of the page and I can see the top of it. It should now be just a simple case of selecting the video file from the local media tab and then inserting it. Thank you very much Jem.

    • I've just tried posting a video file on the site and it works fine. Just a quick question. If I have an image in an article and when you press the image it plays a video, what would be the best way to do this. I was assuming that when you highlighted the image and then pressed the insert/edit link that it would have given the option to choose a video file but it doesn't.

    • You'd place an image in the Article, then link it to the video.

If you are using the default editor (Tiny MCE), try using another, for example JCE (Joomla Content Editor), you might be able to link an image to a file that way.

Besides that, you really need to search or post on joomla.org for resolutions to issues that are not template related.
