  • Create a demo site to show templates as RocketTheme demo

    • Are there any posibility with a extensions or something like that to create a joomla demo to show the templates that we want to sell? We are thinking in something like a top bar to chose wich template want to see.

And, I we want to sell rocketheme templates for our joomla users how can we show them in action? Do you have any special downloads or plans for these type of clients?

      Regards,
      Diego

    • hi diego,

we would like to ask you to NOT set up a demo site with our rockettheme templates yourself, you can always refer to our own demo site.

please also note that selling our templates is against our terms of service, see here:
      www.rockettheme.com/joomla-club-details#terms

if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

    • Probalby I don´t explain our case correctly.

We are building a company wich will develop joomla sites to our client. We don´t want sell templates, our job is to buid and host a web in our servers and in some cases we want to use your templates as the face of this particulary project.

This is not posible to do with you? Obulsy we will buy a proper license to each job.

      Waiting your response.
      Regards,
      Diego

    • can you not just use screenshots?
The demo's all have RT's logo and RocketTheme plastered all over them anyway, if you edited screenshots of them instead then you could remove the rockettheme stuff and make it appear more your own?

      Just an idea.

OR if you download the Templates Sources you will find an editable PNG that shows the entire templates theme with icons etc... this is easy to edit in fireworks and would look professional to the client! (would look like you designed it all)

It all boils down to developing and reselling.

      You cannot re-sell RT templates...

If you are a developer, i.e., someone that develops sites with the customer's content, logo, etc. that's not a problem.

But if you have some kind of business that turns out to be a 'template factory', i.e., your users / members choose the template, you install it (and perhaps upload a logo), and then the customer is on their own, that's a 'no-no'.

      Why not just be honest?

Direct your customers to the RT demo site and tell them to choose a template they like?

      (SO many successful developers do...)

No smoke and mirrors, no PhotoShopping images... No games involved...

This has been discussed 1000 times before.

(I'd link to the thread but it's in the dev area)

A one off template may cost $5000, a template using a provider may cost $1000.

Your customer can choose which they want, but there is no sense in trying to make them believe that you are the sole provider / coder.

    • I have to agree with JEM 8)

I design websites for a living and I have no problem directing my clients to the RT demo site so they can see the templates working at their best.

The only thing I do suggest is that they keep an open mind as some customers come back to me and say the site is too complicated. When I explain that items can be removed, colours changed, and a whole host of other modifications, the customers usually go back and make a list of the ones they like.

As the provider I then have to tailor the client needs to the templates they have shown a preference for.

I don't want, nor do I need, RT templates displayed on my site. I don't charge for templates as I only charge for the work required to modify them.

I don't even have to mess around with thumbnails etc. for admin as my clients know it is a RocketTheme template :) This means I am within the T&Cs by leaving the XML intact as well.

My clients can also read the forums and see the great support they get with RT products. 8)

      Hope this helps.

    • JEM You are confusing the way of our in mind bussines or I don´t explain it well. We don´t want to tell our clients that we are the developers of each template. I can give you a simple example: In our frontpage we have Omnicrom template and in copyright we say: Configured and Managed By "Our company" in any place says builded or designed by us. Because of course it will be a fake.

As I say before we are NOT a template factory as you say, and I´m not happy that you can think that we want to steal your job

Thanks David Goode to understan what I´m speaking about. This is the job that our compay want to do. Not to developing templates, we want to create webs for our clients anda manage it for them. We want to use Rocktemaplate because have wonderful design and of course we don´t want to attribute your work.

I´m happy to talk with you about this theme and I want give to your team the congratulations for your big work.
Thanks another time David and JEM for your responses and of course for the rest of the respnders.

      Regards,
      Diego
