I posted this on the official lettermna forum as well but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try here either. There forum seemed kind of dead. Anyway. I installed letterman component and module, and they both installed just fine. Now when someone tries to subscribe using the module it tells them " This e-mail address is already on the subscriber list" when actually it isn't.
If anyone else has had this issure please post how you fixed it, and a link or something.

- I dont have Letterman so sorry if this is no help, Letterman development on 1.0.x series is done and all new development is going toward the 1.5 version. If your not too deep into letterman you may want to check out Acajoom. A lot sleeker, and poor letterman has not been touched in almost a year.
