I can't seem to get answers here, any ideas?

Posted 14 years 7 months ago
    • I have projects on hold because I can't get answers to many of my questions on the Forum.

I finally did get a couple of answers after sending an email to Rockettheme, but then the person helping me dropped off four days ago and hasn't responded to two PMs that he requested with SA login.

I've seen others complaining of the same thing, yet others seem to get responses pretty quickly.

I have moderate skills with CSS and most of my questions have to do with minor modifications of templates.

This is a serious problem for me. I love Rockettheme templates, but lately I've been investigating other developers that might have more responsive help as my subscription is coming up in a couple of months.

I'm open to advice. I'm also open to paying for help if I can get it promptly, but, right now I stuck in limbo, and my clients are wondering WTF!

      Thanks

    • Hi Bram,

I've reviewed a few (not all) of your posts.

Seems as though some of your questions have been answered and are still open waiting for a reply from you.

Could you short list your most pressing issues here by providing links to the posts you need help with most?

And could you mark any open posts that are solved as such?

That way we can do our best in getting things sorted.

For any issues I can't help you with I will ask the other moderators to take a look.

    • For the first one, have you sent SA details to Arafin?

The second one seems to be solved.

      Let us know.
    • Thanks,

    • Hi,

I sent the SA details to Arafin Twice, once on Saturday, and again on Monday.

The second one has been solved,

      thanks

    • Hello Bram,

Sorry for the delay response. I have modified your template and given the detail in your thread. To comment on your respond above, your question is actually not a "minor" modification. If there is an issue with the templates, we usually give a quick respond, but when it comes to modification of the template (which is actually beyond of the support), we need to give a prioritize to the others who have more critical issue, such as template bug, extensions bug, etc.

I understand your client might be pushing you there, but please also understand our TOS:
      14. Support:
RocketTheme offers these templates and designs ‘as is’, with no implied meaning that they will function exactly as you wish or with all 3rd party components and modules. Further, we offer no support via email or otherwise for installation, customization, administration, etc. A private members-only forum is available to Template Club members. RocketTheme does not commit to monitor these forums, but we reserve the right to respond and answer questions. You acknowledge by your use of the templates that it is at your sole risk, and that you assume full responsibility for all costs associated with all necessary servicing or repairs of any equipment you use in connection with the templates.
yet, I am still happy to provide you the modification you need there :)

      Thanks for your understanding

In regards to this post in particular, www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=18...13030&rb_v=viewtopic , it was way beyond what you can really expect it terms of support here.

Hats off to Arifin for taking the time to develop the code and solution.

He surely has top notch skills and I am sure the coding this took quite a bit of time.

From this point forward, you should consider what is covered in the TOS in terms of support and what is beyond what you can expect.

If you need some custom coding, you can post here:

      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=175&rb_v=viewforum

Again, I'm sure Arifin spent a great deal of time custom coding a solution for you, something you would probably have to pay $50-75 per hour for a developer you do for you...

Also for further reading, you may want to check Andy's reply here:

      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=15...v=viewtopic&start=15

And, consider that the moderators in general are 'part-time' which means we are only on the forum for a few hours a day and try to answer a myriad of inquiries... (along with time zones this can also be a problem)...

If you post an inquiry that is really beyond what you can expect according to the TOS, as Andy mentions in the link I provided, a response is a courtesy provided by the mod that has the time and skills to dedicate to you.

Anyway, Arifin has answered (and hopefully solved 8) ) your question, and you have a link to the Marketplace if you need it.

      Cheers!!

    • Thanks for the help, and for providing the guidelines for this forum. (I wasn't aware of the TOS)

I'll try to keep within those from now on.

In the future, a quick post to let those of us know we've crossed the line would be appreciated. That way we can look elsewhere on the Forum or beyond instead of waiting for a response. It will also help teach us and others how to better use the Forum, thereby saving everyone time in the future.

      Best wishes,

      Bram
