no icons in backend after install

I used rocketlauncher to install zephyr on my godaddy linux hosting account and upgraded to php 5.2.14
However, when I login, there are no icons/images/graphics anywhere in the backend.
This image is hidden for guests.

Could this be due to FireFTP set to ASCII mode?
