    • I would like to add a video intro much like the one State Farm uses here:

      michaelholton.com/

Can anyone point me towards some tools/products to add a video to a website like this? He kinda walks around website talking ( I do not want a basic video add in that just allows you to play a youtube video etc..).

      Thanks.

      Dave

    • I believe one of the members here Jason from openpotion has done some work like this and can probably point you in the right direction. If he doesn't answer here you can probably catch him on his website openpotion.com

    • Two things you would need:

      A) Green screen to shoot the video (along with excellent lighting), and keying software to key out the background making the background transparent.

      B) The code to overlay the video to appear over the site as it does in the link you provided.

I'll dig around a bit for some links, did a lot of keying a few years back and had seen discussions about how to do this (overlay vs. regular video).

But the keying software company (Serious Magic) was acquired by Adobe and their forums, which had the info you are looking for are long gone.

AFAIK, the keying software was bundled in one of Adobe's Creative Suites, and perhaps got absorbed into After Effects?

But I have lost track of it since then.

You can Google for 'chromakey software' to get started on 'A'.

Anyway, it won't be simple or cheap, even if you do it yourself.

    • JEM is right. You would need Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premiere to make this work. Also a green screen :) (you can make that yourself).

There is more software capable of making this work, but I just mentioned the one that's an industry standard, and most used.

    • And IMHO, green screen i much easier to use that blue screen as skin tones and the average presenter's outfits are not keyed out by accident.

And as I mentioned, I don't know if the keying soft is included in the latest versions, so you will have to do a bit of searching for the basic software, unless of course it's still included and you or your client have deep pockets...
    • Thanks,

    • Thanks everyone! Lots of people out there providing the service... but wondering what tools they are using (obviously a green screen/blue screen) to get the walking around the website thing accomplished.
