Problematic Rocket Launcher Install to Subdomain

    • Hi,

I am trying to install Quantive to a subdomain. I am getting a lot of errors (see below) that I need a little guidance on, please. Note: I've read a lot of posts and don't seem to know which way is the right way to proceed.

First, here is what I have done to get to this point.

      1) Created a new subdomain root\smallbizresourcecenter,

      2) Uploaded the Quantive Rocket Launcher.zip file to my subdomain,

      3) Unzipped using a cPanel unarchive utility.

      4) then, using my browser went to install the full version of Quantive.

The following is the installer's error message:

Cookies do not appear to be enabled on your browser client. You will not be able to install the application with this feature disabled. Alternatively, there could also be a problem with the server's session.save_path. If this is the case, please consult your hosting provider if you don't know how to check or fix this yourself. (I checked the obvious, and, yes, the cookies feature is on).

Here is the server's messages that show outside of the installer:

      Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/home/users/web/b657/ipw.debitsan/sampleinstall/cgi-bin/tmp/sess_5d08b0a672eefe25a6d2e2121b68326f, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in /hermes/bosweb/web065/b657/ipw.debitsan/smallbizresourcecenter/libraries/joomla/session/session.php on line 423

    • You must extract/install it here: /public_html/smallbizresourcecenter/

      NOT /smallbizresourcecenter

I hope you notice the difference :)

    • Hello,

I have properly set-up the subdomain. It is now in a folder under public_html.

I am still getting the cookie error message and the following:

    • Can you tell us your host & verify the php version you are running?

(If it is php4, you need to upgrade to 5, and if it is less than 5.2, again, it could be causing the issue.)

With a 100% compatible host, you should not be receiving these errors, especially with the Rocket Launcher.
    • Thanks,

    • Hi,

      Thank you for your reply.

I am using ipower.com. It looks like they fully support Joomla.

      The PHP version is 5.2.12.

Could you tell us how you verified this?

Can you log into the admin section of one of your Joomla installs and go Help > System Info and verify the php version you are using (the one that is loading for your domain(s)).

You can also verify this through your CP...

Why I am asking is that even just over the past week we've seen several members say their host is running 5.2.+ but when they confirm the version they are running, it turns out to be some version of 4 instead. (Switch versions, in most cases, problem solved)

Reason being, yes, your host may be running 5.2.12, etc, but when your account was configured it may have been configured on some version of 4. Even if your host has upgraded their versions, they won't be automatically upgraded on your account (although you should be able to chooses between 4 and 5).

    • I am wondering if I fill in the configuration.php file if that will bypass this mess.

If so, would someone send me a sample cofiguration.php file so I can see what should be filled in.

      Thanks,

      Steve
