I'm not sure if this is a rockettheme issue, but I've had multiple sites (all running RT/Gantry templates) suddenly have their configuration.php files erased. The files are still on the server, but they're suddenly at 0 bytes and 100% empty.
So far I've been uploading new configuration.php files so the site will reconnect to the database and it works, but it's happened a few times over the past few months and is very strange. My hosting support feels that it's a Joomla issue.
I have not found anything about it in the Joomla forums and figured I may as well ask here, just in case it's somehow an RT issue, since Gantry has it's crazy cache thing going, maybe somehow it affect the config file?
what permissions level to you have the configuration.php file set to?
have you renamed the htaccess.txt file (making it the new .htaccess file in your root joomla directory)
Sounds like you're being hacked, have never heard of this happening with Joomla, or (RT) templates.
Any strange files in your root, any weird access by unknown or new FTP / mail users?
(I ask because I got hacked about a month ago. [weak password - stupid me] Anyway, they were 'benevolent hackers', while they could have deleted my whole site or messed it up entirely since they had complete access, instead they just set up a bunch of e-mail accounts for spamming and some FTP accounts for this and that.)
