webdev'rs - ur thoughts on using nav bars that are strictly image icons?? esp in a joomla site
I say bad idea
• ugly
• not contemporary
• not SEO friendly
is it disatrous in a RT site ? is it even possible?
your thoughts?

you can use one of the common image replacing techniques.
You can look at this:

If you don't change your menu-items like mad and you use sprites there is nothing bad about that imho.

i think this client wants to get rid of the whole nav bar look - so no roknavmenu at all. just icons that would be pngs with transparent backgrounds.
