    Menu Issue

    • I have posted this under the Marketplace as well

I have a site that has a menu issue / side menu issue. I need this fixed either by a tweak or menu fix. The issue is that the site is based on the main menu but the left menu is the sub-menu level. As you can see in the link below the RESEARCH tab is highlighted in red because the page was derived from the main menu. Every page on the side menu is also in the main menu.

However when you click from the side menu the highlight goes away and RESEARCH is not highlighted.

I want every page that is linked from the side menu to have a "Section" highlight from the main menu even though it really doesn't fall under the main menu. I do not have the site setup with Categories or Sections. All articles are added as uncategorized.

There may be a tweak to do this via the page class suffix or... is there a way to put the Main Menu on the left side but show only a specific section. For example if someone is on the Research section then only the research items show up.

There may be a simple solution to this. I don't know it. I have done over 100 joomla sites and this is the first time I have run into this issue where a client wants the main menu highlighted when a side menu is selected.

FYI - The organization wants the side menu to stay the way that it is. They do not want a full main menu on the top and on the side.
