  Looks like that they are gonna be hard to come by for the time being...
  
  Vic Gundotra, VP of Social at Google, posted on Plus, "We've shut down invite mechanism for the night. Insane demand. We need to do this carefully, and in a controlled way. Thank you all for your interest!"

- For anyone interested, there's a "backway" in to Google+, despite them shutting off the invite system.
  
  Get someone who's already in there to share a link with you via email (to your google email account). Then, click on the "learn more" button in the email that comes through and it should allow you to sign up/in.
  
  That's how I scored my account
