    • I use no menu module, rely only in roknavmenu ;)

      Everything is greenie in multilingual status, the issue is with roknavmenu that I'm dense to configure...

      I'm using Joomla 1.7.1 and everything works fine: however I have a question.
      Why is it necessary to set the language field in the Article parameters if we use a specific menu for each language? (where each menu item links to specific translated article)

    • hey guys, I've tried several tuts for months and followed every instruction given, and i just can't get it to work and I'm starting to get desperated, I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong! :cry:

      I'd gladly grant access to one of the moderators to my admin panel if required, so that you can help me on this issue. I'm pretty sure it's a minor detail I've missed... either that or my joomla installation was not compiled properly o_O

      The website is http://www.gdlsalud.com.mx

      Currently, the language switcher module is unpublished because when a different language is chosen, it displays a blank page and I'm already having clients hosted in it, so I can't let the website malfunctioning while I'm promoting it. A curious fact is that when unpusblished, you can change the language prefix directly in the url (i.e. it says gdlsalud.com.mx/es/ but it's possible to view some modules, menus and even articles when the prefix /es/ is changed to /en/). Oh! btw, I already published the admin module called multilanguage status, and it shows no errors in my configuration :shock:

      Any help'd be trully appreciated.

    • I suggest that you install a fresh Joomla 1.7.3 site and try it with following the instructions here: docs.joomla.org/Language_Switcher_Tutorial_for_Joomla_1.6 or one of the other tutorials you can find. If that works, then there is something wrong with your install. Success!

    • hey guys, thanks for your quick replies,

      I already checked the tutorials provided by Salami and Frank, and thank you both for your concern, the thing is that i double checked and couldn't get it to work :( there's one thing i did notice: when i enable the language switcher in spanish (the default language) it is possible to click on the english flag and retrieve all the english content, but when y try to publish the english module, it's when the blank page shows up. I'm guessing it's time to follow Frank's advice and do a new installation... I was hoping not to do that because it'll be a lot of work to redo everything :S anyways, Kat, thank you for taking the time to help me. I'll send you the M right away.
