Increasing font size in navigation bar

I have tried pasting this into the template.css in Camber with no success trying to change the font size.
Also, Im trying to:
1) Remove the drop shadow which makes the font difficult to read.
2) Put a color into the Navigation Bar not just a grey screen which only allows for Dark or Light.
3) Repeated: Change the font size in the Navigation Bar.
Appreciated assistance!
